Dr. Salem is a board-certified Pediatrician with a vast experience in pediatric treatment for over 20 years. She received her Medical Degree from Kilpauk Medical College, Chennai, India in 1993. She completed her first 2 years of pediatric residency in New York, and her third year at University of Texas HSC, El Paso where she received her "Resident of the Year" award. She also has an MBA in Healthcare Management from University of Texas at Dallas.

Dr. Salem practiced in Athens, TX, providing comprehensive pediatric care and moved to Plano in 2001. She worked as a locum physician, gaining diverse experiences in many practices across DFW before establishing her own practice "Kiddie Docs" in 2004 and later "Craig Ranch Pediatrics" in 2007.

Dr. Salem's passion in natural health care started from traditional medicine practice. After graduating from Texas Tech Health Science Center and running a traditional practice of over 20 years, she felt there was a better way to treat and/or prevent many common and chronic illnesses using natural remedies, diet, lifestyle changes than using over the counter medications and traditional doctor visits.

This passion led her to learn many different methods of medicine including Ayurveda (yoga, meditation, panchakarma), Integrative Holistic medicine, Microbiome, Chinese medicine and Functional medicine.

She visited many countries especially various parts of India (Himalayas - Meditation, Kerala- Ayurveda wellness centers and Herb Farms, Rishikesh-Yoga Central), Costa Rica, Peru in search of knowledge of the local herbs and medical treatments. She shares many of these tips thru dietary and lifestyle practices on her website blogs and social media.
